Matilda

Roald Dahl's Matilda won the Children's Book Award shortly after it was published in 1988, and for good reason! Watching my six-year old's eyes grow as big as saucers as I read her this story recently was priceless. It was inconceivable to her that parents might not cherish their children and that Miss Trunchbull could hurl kids around the school with no repercussions.
