The Living Infinite

Based on the true story of the Spanish princess Eulalia, Chantel Acevedo’s new novel vividly reimagines the life of the fiery and outspoken woman who, as a child, was part of the Bourbon court at the end of her family’s reign. After spending part of her youth in a palace in Spain, Eulalia was later exiled with her family to Paris, where she was raised as a normal child. Throughout her life she kept in touch with her wet nurse, Amelia, who loved and cared for her the way her mother never did. Amelia’s son, Thomas, grew up as Eulalia’s “milk brother” in the palace, and the two are reunited as adults through the tell-all book Eulalia writes about life in the palace. Eulalia and Thomas travel together to the New World as Eulalia hopes to find a publisher for her shocking autobiography. Torn between her love for her children and her need for independence, Eulalia will have to decide what tips the scales as it relates to marriage, love, and the price of freedom.
