Crush

I found this book to be irresistible!

The New York Times calls it "the love child of Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love and Carrie Bradshaw's Sex and the City column," which is singing my song! It follows a supposedly happily married woman, mom, and family breadwinner as she navigates uncharted territory. From a long line of un-divorced people, she convinces herself how lucky she is. However, her husband doesn’t work or help much in raising their son, has avoided kissing her for 18 years, and suggests she kiss other people to get her "spark" back—even though she has never expressed an interest in an open marriage.

As my aunt always said, be careful what you wish for. Cue the drama!

Also, Calhoun’s literary references are a masterpiece—they’re a secret pot of gold inside this book.
