Dear Edward
Edward is a twelve-year-old boy who is on a flight with his family from Newark to Los Angeles. He is about to become famous, but not the kind of famous any would ever wish to be. He becomes the sole survivor after his plane goes down somewhere in Colorado. It might surprise you to know this in fact, is not an incredibly depressing book, even with the subject matter. Edward's relationships in this book, with his brother who he was close with, his aunt and uncle who he moves in with after the crash, his next-door neighbor who becomes his life raft, and ultimately his therapist, are what shine through in this incredible tale of grace and perseverance.
