Astray
A wonderful collection of short stories inspired by various newspaper articles and stories from the last four centuries, the characters from each having something in common, going . . . Astray. I started reading this solely because I loved Donoghue's debut novel, "Room" so much and I wasn’t aware Astray was a collection of short stories. I loved the macabre in each story, which reminded me of all southern gothic literature I'm such a fool for. After each story was a factual bit of newspaper or historical source which was my favorite part so I could see the origin she began crafting her stories. Fascinating! - Summer
