Happy All the Time
Reissuing a classic from the '70s that you will tear through in guilty-pleasure (yet very intelligent) fashion. The novel follows Guido Morris and Vincent Cardworthy, two cousins with trust funds bouncing around the city, having settled into their respective careers and trying to find the women they will marry. There is nothing I love more than a character-driven novel of couples, and in that way this book reminds me of my all-time favorite, Crossing to Safety, by Wallace Stegner. The female leads are absolutely unforgettable in all their quirks, personality oddities, and convictions.
