How to Be a Good Creature

I was taken with this incredible little gem of a book from the very start! Author and naturalist Sy Montgomery has been committed to animals since she was a young girl, when her beloved Scottish Terrier, Molly, first came into her life. Her mother was continually frustrated and bewildered to have a daughter who wanted nothing to do with dresses, friends, or games. Nope, Sy Montgomery only had eyes for animals. This passion for animals has earned her the devotion of many readers, recognition as a National Book Award finalist, and many other accolades for her animal research and her incredibly personal and heart-warming stories about her beloved pets. She has gone into the depths of the forest of Papua New Guinea to study rare tree kangaroos and traveled to equally far-flung locales to study pink dolphins and humongous spiders, but the story that stole my heart was of her pig, Christopher Hogwood, and his winning personality and antics. This book is pure joy and should be ready by every human!
