I Am Homeless If This Is Not My Home
What we have here in Lorrie Moore’s new book, I AM HOMELESS IF THIS IS NOT MY HOME, is an air of brilliant absurdity shrouded in death and hilarity. I’m not sure I understand it all, but she’s operating on a different plane anyways, so my understanding isn’t always necessary! This book explores the relationships of lovers and siblings, as well as grief and trapdoors. It's similar to LINCOLN IN THE BARDO in feel, intelligence, and dreaminess. It’s a ghost story, romance, and dark comedy wrapped into one delicious tidbit.
Lorrie Moore is brilliant. You can read it in one sitting or one weekend. There are no downsides to be found in this extraordinary novel!
