I Miss You When I Blink
Behind Oprah and Reese Witherspoon, I now have Mary Laura Philpott to put on my list of “famous people I want to be friends with.” She is a fellow recovering perfectionist and takes us chronologically through childhood escapades, her adult years before children, and a refreshingly honest account of what happens when she gets to 40 (or somewhere near there) and realizes some things she wishes she could push away. A friend of mine described this book as the manifestation of all the thoughts she’s had about life, delivered with a big dollop of wit and eloquence. This is a book you’ll want to pass on to all your friends.
