Matty Matheson : Soups, Salads, Sandwiches

You cannot help but love this guy, am I right? Chef, restaurateur, actor, and—most famously to me—Neil Fak from the Emmy-winning series The Bear has come in hot for the holidays with his third cookbook. He wrote this one for home cooks, although if you follow him on IG, you’ll see plenty of chefs cooking out of it too. The recipes look incredible, and there are at least five soups I can't wait to try, along with his Roasted Croque Madame, Roasted Squash, and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese with Honey and Bee Pollen sandwich—what!? This guy makes me aspirational!

The salad that stole my heart is the Chicken Finger Crouton Salad, which, if you know and love the right places in Oxford, MS, would fit perfectly on The Beacon's menu. Funny enough, it was inspired by a place in Crystal Beach (no idea where that is) called The Breakfast Beacon. Is that place still open?

Not to mention, the photography is off-the-charts amazing. I love this cookbook so much. This one’s for all the dudes in aprons and fans of The Bear.
