Tales From the Manor

American elders, full of wisdom and whit. ‘Tales From The Manor’ started as a radio show to shine a little light on these elders whose stories are rarely told. What happened after that was the gift of a lifetime for me and all involved. We got to sit at the feet of the Masters and learn what it means to truly live with strength and grace. This book is a window into the history of Charleston, SC, over the last 50 years. But it’s also the opportunity to hear about the incredible lives of seemingly ordinary people living under extreme circumstances. Addiction overcome, time served, jobs won, scholarships received, businesses started, and children succeeding are not the typical stories told by those living in low-income housing. But that is their truth, and they got there with almost no help from our society. I invite you to both listen to the podcast and to take in these extraordinary and moving stories.
