Tattoos on the Heart

It is more than likely that you have heard the name Gregory Boyle or Homeboy Industries in the last decade—and for good reason. Father Gregory Boyle entered the priesthood at the poorest Catholic parish in Los Angeles, in the most gang-riddled area of the country, with the mission of responding to the needs of the homeboys and homegirls who reside in the projects. Homeboy Industries was born of the need to provide jobs, tattoo removal, and a chance at life for former gang members. Gangs are a perfect example of conditional love. Father Boyle provided something new—unconditional love. His mission is to show all he encounters that God is too busy delighting in you to judge you. I will never forget Dr. Boyle, the homies, and their incredible stories.
