The Kindest Lie
The scene is set in 2008 when Ruth Tuttle, a black ivy-league educated engineer, and her equally impressive (and beautiful) husband, celebrate the dawning of a new era with Obama's election, with the who's who of Chicago. Riding high on all the excitement, Ruth's husband is ready to start a family. But she is hesitant, and for a good reason. She has some baggage she has been hiding, with loose ends needing to be tied up, and hard conversations to be had back home before she can move forward. The kindest lie never feels that way when you are the one left in the dark. And it's unclear whether this perfect match can sustain the blow of a secret left too long in the dark.
